This delicious Berry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie gets a blast of flavor from the frozen strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. I added a seasonal ripe tangelo to bring all the flavors together and add a hint of sweetness. Feel free to add a frozen banana to this smoothie if you would like it sweeter!
The texture of this smoothie is very creamy, the secret ingredient is raw cashews. If you ever need to add creaminess to your smoothie but don’t have bananas, cashews are a fabulous substitute! Not only do cashews make this Berry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie creamy, but they add protein and good fats!
In addition, the combination of cashews and oatmeal make this a very satisfying breakfast smoothie.
This Berry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie can also be a grab and go snack since it’s so easy to make. It will provide you with a boost of energy after a workout or kids sports activity. Just pour it into a mason jar and take it with you.

Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen berries (raspberries, strawberries, blueberries)
- 1 Tangelo or Orange
- 1/3 cup gluten free oatmeal
- 1/4 cup raw cashews
- 4 ice cubes
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender, (preferably high speed) and blend until smooth. Pour into 3 small glasses and serve.

This may sound like a silly question, but is the oatmeal you put into this the cooked version or just dry oats?
HI Sara,
This is just the dry oats. You can always soak the oatmeal overnight if you like. I have a Vitamix so it pulverizes the oats. Let us know how you like the recipe.
