I have been wanting to make flavored ice cubes for over 15 years. As a teenager I would clip my favorite magazine recipes. I remember looking at the flavored ice cubes and thinking that it looked so elegant. Fast forward 15 years and here I am finally making flavored ice cubes. I am amazed at how easy this recipe is and how is livens up the flavor of the water.
I am going to make sure I have these flavored ice cubes readily available in my freezer. I can’t wait to serve these in beautiful glasses to our next guest! They will be thrilled! FYI, lemons will also work in this recipe if you do not have limes. I love the green vibrant colors of the lime and mint together. The flavors marry together perfectly!
In this recipe I am using Tovolo Perfect Cube ice trays. I love silicon ice trays! The ice cubes are a perfect square and they slide out easily making this a hassle free recipe. I remember growing up with the old fashioned ice cube trays that had a latch to release the cubes. Remember those? The ice cubes used to come in long rectangular shapes and crack? Ice cube trays have come a long way. They can make your flavored ice cubes look like art. Have fun with this recipe and enjoy!!
