This Easy Homemade Ranch Dip is bursting with flavor. It is full of fresh herbs and has a delicious garlicky punch. It goes wonderful with raw vegetables, baked chicken tenders and roasted vegetables. Okay, I basically put it on everything! The best part is, it takes only 5 minutes to make so you can easily make this ranch dip a new staple in your home!
Additionally, this is a wonderful recipe to take to parties, you can easily quadruple the recipe so you don’t run out in the first 5 minutes!
The Best Ranch Dip Recipe Ingredients
You will need:
- Full Fat Sour Cream (I liked using organic sour cream because it contains active live cultures such as Acidophilus And Bifidus Cultures, it gives a great tang & full bodied flavor)
- fresh chives
- fresh dill (may use dry but the fresh herbs are SO WORTH IT!!!)
- freshly garlic (a must ingredient, it adds such a nice punch!)
- onion granules (adds more depth of flavor vs onion powder)
- garlic salt (season to taste as some garlic salts are saltier than others)
- 1 Tablespoon filtered water (helps thin out)
Optional Modifications to this Easy Ranch Dip
- Sour Cream can be replaced with greek yogurt or cultured cashew yogurt
- Use dried herbs instead of fresh
- Add 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice for extra tang
- Add 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper for an extra kick
- Add 1 teaspoon dried minced onion for an extra crunch

How to Serve Homemade Ranch Dip Recipe
After mixing all the ingredients together, pour into a small serving bowl and serve with sliced carrots, bell peppers, cucumbers, celery and bite sized pieces of broccoli or cauliflower.
This sour cream ranch dip also goes wonderful with Gluten Free Chicken Tenders, Crispy Oven Fried Okra and Fantastic Roasted Vegetables.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Full Fat Sour Cream
- 1/2 teaspoon chopped chives
- 1/2 teaspoon chopped dill
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly minced garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon onion granules
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt (season to taste as some garlic salts are saltier than others)
- 1 Tablespoon filtered water
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a small mixing bowl and stir well. If you would like to thin this out, just add more water.
- Store in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Notes
- Add garlic salt slowly and season to taste. I have found that the Simply Organic Garlic Salt (which I use in this recipe) is less salty than the McCormick Garlic Salt.
