Ultimate Paleo Salted Caramel Sauce


Ultimate Paleo Salted Caramel Sauce-a delicious caramel that melts in your mouth, is full of flavor and completely dairy free.  This coconut based sauce is simmered to a perfect caramel texture and flavored with a hint of maple syrup, coconut sugar, vanilla and salt.  It is simple to make and fool proof!  Perfect for drizzling over ice cream, apple slices and brownies.


  • 1 13.5 ounce can of full fat coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 Tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  1. To a small saucepan, add coconut milk, coconut sugar, maple syrup and coconut oil.  Whisk occasionally and bring to a boil and reduce to a high simmer.
  2. Simmer for about 30 minutes or until sauce has reduced by half and can coat the back of a spoon.  Remove from stove and stir in vanilla and salt.
  3. Allow mixture to cool and store in the fridge in a sealed container.  Mixture will thicken once it cools.
