I tested this recipe multiple times to get the salmon just right, and the result is perfectly flaky, flavorful salmon with beautifully crunchy Brussels sprouts without making a complicated dinner. It's family-friendly, made with simple ingredients, and everything cooks together in the same base, which means less prep and less cleanup. Even my daughter, who doesn't usually eat fish, loved this one! I make this recipe every week, and I think this air fryer salmon is going to become a regular in your dinner rotation, too. I have a video tutorial to show you how easy it is to make.

This recipe was inspired by my all-in-one Ninja Crispi Air Fryer YouTube series. I love being able to cook the entire meal in the same base with minimal cleanup. Why I love this recipe
- Buttery & Flavorful - The air fryer salmon comes out perfectly flaky and buttery, while the Brussels sprouts develop delicious crispy, golden edges. The simple combination of garlic salt, all-purpose seasoning, butter, and fresh lemon gives this meal so much flavor without complicated ingredients.
- Simple & Nourishing - This all-in-one meal combines protein-rich salmon with Brussels sprouts, a great source of fiber and vitamin C. Salmon is also naturally rich in omega-3 fatty acids, making this a delicious way to add nutrient-dense foods to your dinner table.
- Quick & Weeknight-Friendly - Everything cooks together in the Ninja Crispi Air Fryer in about 12 minutes, making this an easy dinner for busy weeknights. There's minimal prep, minimal cleanup, and no need to cook your protein and vegetables separately.
Ingredients
For the Salmon:
- BBQ-cut salmon steaks - I use BBQ-cut salmon because the thicker cut gives you a beautifully buttery texture and helps keep the salmon moist while it cooks. Look for evenly sized pieces so they cook at about the same rate.
- Avocado oil - A light, neutral oil that helps the seasonings adhere to the salmon and promotes beautiful browning.
- Garlic salt - Adds savory garlic flavor without needing several separate seasonings.
- McCormick Garlic & Onion, Black Pepper & Sea Salt All Purpose Seasoning - My go-to seasoning for adding lots of flavor with very little effort.
- Unsalted Butter - This is one of my favorite parts! Adding a thick layer of butter when you turn the salmon helps create that rich, buttery flavor and keeps the fish moist.
For the Brussels Sprouts
- Brussels sprouts - These little vegetables become wonderfully caramelized in the air fryer. They're also a good source of fiber and vitamin C, making them an easy way to add more vegetables to dinner.
- Avocado oil- Helps the Brussels sprouts brown and crisp around the edges.
- Kosher salt - Enhances the natural flavor of the salmon and Brussels sprouts.
- Freshly ground black pepper - Adds a little peppery bite and brings out the flavor of the other seasonings.
For Serving
- Fresh lemon wedges- A squeeze of fresh lemon brightens the entire dish and balances the richness of the salmon and butter.
- Fresh parsley - Adds freshness and a pop of color.
- Freshly grated Pecorino Romano - Adds a salty, savory finish that is especially delicious on the roasted Brussels sprouts.
See recipe card for quantities.

Hint: Add a thin slice of butter before serving for an extra buttery flavor. Serve with steamed white rice, this dish is so delicious, better than a restaurant!

Equipment
For this Air Fryer Kung Salmon Recipe, I used the Ninja Crispi All-in-One Cooker - it perfectly air fries, bakes and re-crisps all in one base. If you're using a different air fryer, you may need to adjust the cooking time slightly.
An instant-read thermometer is especially helpful when cooking salmon. It's the easiest way to check that your salmon has reached the proper internal temperature without having to guess.
For the best flavor use garlic salt and McCormick Garlic & Onion, Black Pepper & Sea Salt All Purpose Seasoning - My go-to seasoning for adding lots of flavor with very little effort.
Storage
Store leftover salmon and Brussels sprouts in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
For the best texture, I recommend reheating the salmon and brussels sprouts in the air fryer on the "Recrisp" setting for 5 minutes. Top with butter before serving.
Top Tip
Don't skip drying the salmon before seasoning it. Patting the salmon dry helps the oil and seasonings adhere to the surface and results in an extra crispy salmon skin.
Most importantly, don't rely on time alone. Salmon steaks can vary quite a bit in thickness. Start checking the internal temperature toward the end of cooking so you can remove the salmon as soon as it reaches 140-145°F.
That's how I get the buttery, flaky texture I love in this recipe!
FAQ
For this recipe, the salmon starts with 7 minutes of air frying to crisp up the skin and then flip and cooks for another 3-5 minutes. The exact cooking time will depend on the thickness of your salmon. It is ready when the internal temperature reaches 140-145°F.
I love using BBQ-cut salmon for this recipe because the thicker cut gives you a wonderfully buttery and flaky texture. To me, it is also more mild in flavor. If you use thinner salmon fillets, keep a close eye on them because they may cook faster.
Yes! That's one of the reasons I love this recipe. The Brussels sprouts cook underneath the crisper plate while the salmon cooks above them, making this an easy all-in-one meal. It is one of my favorite weekday meals ready in just 15 minutes! I always keep extra salmon vacuum sealed in the freezer so I can whip this up quickly!
Salmon is a great source of protein and is naturally rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Brussels sprouts also provide fiber and vitamin C, so this meal is an easy way to combine a protein with a nutrient-rich vegetable. This meal always makes me feel light and nourished after.
