Need something quick for breakfast? These are made in 20 minutes or less! I like to use an eco-friendly heart shaped waffle iron for these. That means this waffle iron is PTFE and PFOA Free.
Because these are super thin, they cook in about a minute!
A great plus for these waffles is that they are made with blanched almond flour, tapioca flour and coconut flour-pretty great for anyone wanting to use mostly grain free flours.
Lately, I have been getting several requests for low sugar recipes so I decided to sweeten this with a low sugar sweetener, stevia. For all of you trying to stay away from carbs and high sugar recipes, this one is for you!
I am using vanilla stevia to taste. When making this, just add enough stevia to lightly sweeten the batter and that will be perfect!
Want to keep this low in sugar? Just top with low sugar fruit such as raspberries and omit the syrup. The nutritional information is below based on 6 waffles. These are only 3 grams of sugar per waffle.
If you prefer to use another sweetener, try: coconut sugar, maple syrup or honey. I would suggest just 2 teaspoons. When making waffles, you don’t want to drown them in sweeter because you are going to top them off with maple syrup and fresh fruit.
When making this recipe, my daughter and her two amazing friends got to taste test this recipe and they absolutely loved them! So they are even kid approved! Thanks girls for helping out! 🙂
Since I have a dairy allergy, I used coconut milk in this recipe, but any dairy free alternative will work and if you can have milk, then feel free to use it!
These gluten free chocolate waffles will surely satisfy your chocolate cravings! Serve yourself a nice cup of coconut milk and top off these waffles with berries and syrup and you will feel like you are in a nice fancy restaurant! You may want to make a double batch if you have kids-these will disappear faster than you can make them!
